Upgrade a compatible Volkswagen Touareg 7P with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while retaining the original RNS850 or RCD550 multimedia screen, factory controls and original interior appearance.
Navigation, music, calls, messages and supported mobile applications are displayed directly on the vehicle’s original screen. The factory multimedia menu remains available whenever required.
The interface is operated using the original touchscreen, rotary controller, multimedia buttons and connected phone. The original rear camera and parking-sensor display remain integrated and appear automatically when reverse gear is selected.
The module adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while preserving the original Volkswagen screen, factory menu, multimedia controls, parking information and vehicle functions.
Connect a compatible phone wirelessly through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth or use the optional wired USB connection. The same module supports compatible Apple and Android phones.

Designed for Volkswagen Touareg 7P vehicles manufactured from 2010 to 2017 and equipped with one of the following original multimedia systems:
The product is available in separate versions for the RNS850 and RCD550 multimedia systems. Select the version that matches the original screen installed in your vehicle.
The RNS850 uses an 8-inch screen, while the RCD550 uses a 6.5-inch screen. The surrounding controls and button layout also differ.
When the vehicle supports original Bluetooth audio streaming and the module includes the required setting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto audio can be transmitted through the factory Bluetooth channel instead of AUX.
This can retain better sound quality and allows the vehicle’s original Bluetooth phone function to remain available through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The AUX source must be present and active in the original Volkswagen multimedia menu when the system is configured to use AUX audio.
The module itself does not require additional programming. However, when AUX is missing from the factory menu, the vehicle must be programmed to activate it before AUX audio can be used.
The interface and supported applications are operated using the original touchscreen, rotary controller, multimedia buttons and phone.
The original Volkswagen menu remains accessible at any time. When reverse gear is selected, the system automatically displays the factory rear camera or parking-sensor information and closes it again after reversing.
No replacement screen is required, allowing the dashboard to retain its original appearance.
The module retains the original parking-camera and parking-sensor display and provides inputs for compatible aftermarket camera systems.
The supplied wiring connects to the original vehicle connectors, so the factory wiring does not need to be cut or soldered.
The multimedia unit and interior trim still need to be removed to install the module and route the supplied wiring, USB connection, microphone and any optional camera cables.
Select the correct RNS850 or RCD550 version before ordering. The module connects to the original Volkswagen multimedia system and preserves the factory screen, original controls, camera display and parking-sensor information.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used wirelessly through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth or through the optional USB connection. Audio can use the vehicle’s original Bluetooth channel when supported, or the active AUX source.
