The W221 dashboard was designed around the original COMAND display. This module works with that existing screen instead of replacing it with a visibly aftermarket multimedia unit.
The smartphone interface appears in the original display position, while the COMAND menu and standard vehicle information remain available.

The correct product version must match the original Mercedes COMAND multimedia system installed in the vehicle.
Version for compatible W221 vehicles equipped with the earlier NTG 3.0 system.
Version for compatible facelift-era W221 vehicles equipped with the NTG 3.5 system.
The easiest practical check is the media-slot layout in the centre console. Select the product version that matches the original system.
The NTG 3.0 unit does not have the SD card slot shown on the newer NTG 3.5 system.
The NTG 3.5 unit can be identified by the visible SD card slot in the media panel.
Navigate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto using the original COMAND rotary controller, steering-wheel buttons and connected phone.
The original Mercedes menu can be reopened whenever vehicle settings, trip information or factory media functions are needed.
The module is integrated with the original parking system. Selecting reverse gear automatically switches the display to the factory rear camera or parking-sensor information.
After reversing, the display returns to the previously selected interface.
The module sends audio to the Mercedes sound system through the AUX channel. Check that AUX is available and working in the original COMAND menu before ordering.
When AUX is missing or inactive, it must be activated or repaired before the module can transmit sound correctly.
Wireless Apple CarPlay supports compatible iPhones running iOS 10 or newer.
Wireless Android Auto requires Android 11 or newer. Older supported Android phones use USB. Huawei support may be limited or may require a wired connection.
The module retains the original parking display and allows additional camera equipment to be connected where required.
