This version is designed for BMW X5 E53 vehicles from 1999–2006 that do not use the later BMW CCC or CIC multimedia systems.

This version is intended for E53 configurations without factory CCC or CIC.
An additional rotary controller is supplied and can be installed in place of the small storage compartment.
