This is a Linux CarPlay / Android Auto screen

The unit does not use the Android operating system. It is designed specifically for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and access to the original BMW multimedia system.

No Android apps

Standalone Android applications cannot be installed directly on the screen.

No YouTube / Netflix apps

The screen is not an Android tablet and does not run these apps independently.

The factory BMW interface remains controlled through the original iDrive controller.
